Songs of Adaptation, a project of Future Generations University, has several different facets. Those of you who have been following us see content about birds, bioacoustics, climate change, community engagement, and the mention of Artificial Intelligence or AI. The term AI may conjure images of robot apocalypse or computers who win Jeopardy. In contrast, the AI model we are training is more a well-tuned ear.

From the front matter of Ultrasonic Communication by animals . The Royal Air Force 360 Squadron used the moth Melese laodamia (Druce, 1884) as part of their squadron badge. The squadron focussed on counter measures to electromagnetic radar, analogous to the moths defenses against the bioacoustic sonar of bats.
The recordings are linked to a recent puplication by Lindsay Popple  revising the Myopsalta crucifera species gorup, including the description of 14 new species. Some sound recordings of these new species are included in the published recordings.
