Caledopsalta canteminvantum

Behaviour: 

Seven different records were analysed to described the male call- ing song of Caledopsalta canteminvantum sp. nov. The male calling song (Fig. 11) is composed of two types of phrases: a long one, lasting between 3.5 to 4 s, and a short one, lasting between 0.45 and 0.75 s. The long phrase is a succession of echemes emitted at a rate of 18 per second; each echeme is formed by three groups of pulses. The short phrases are composed of 9 to 17 echemes emitted at a rate of 22 groups per second; each echeme is formed by two groups of pulses. The two phrases do not differ in their frequency content ranging from 9000 to 19 000 Hz with main power between 13 300 and 15 000 Hz and a maximum power at 14 000 Hz [1].
